Balwyn Evergreen Centre

Balwyn Evergreen Centre is a not-for-profit community centre located at 45 Talbot Ave, Balwyn VIC 3103, that has been serving older adults in the Boroondara area since 1958. It is explicitly not a residential aged care facility — it focuses on keeping people over 65 active, healthy, and socially connected through day programs, exercise classes, social activities, and bus outings. Programs include a dementia-friendly Supported Lifestyle Program, on-site podiatry and physiotherapy, a volunteer visitor scheme (Evergreen Connections), and multicultural activities. Many programs are subsidised under the Commonwealth Home Support Program (CHSP), with a pay-as-you-go pricing model. The centre is an independently run, not-for-profit organisation open Monday to Friday, 8:30am–4:30pm.
