AgedCareAtlas

Privacy

Last updated 4 June 2026

AgedCareAtlas is a free directory of aged care homes in Australia. This page explains, in plain language, what we collect, what we don't, and what we do with it. The short version: we don't ask for personal information to use the site, and we don't sell or share visitor data with providers.

The short version

  • No accounts. No sign-up. No login.
  • No personal information collected when you browse.
  • No lead capture. We never pass your details to providers.
  • Only data we hold about visitors is anonymous, aggregated page-view counts.

What we collect

Aggregate, anonymised usage data via Vercel Analytics: which pages were viewed, browser type, country-level location, referrer. No IP addresses are stored. No personally identifying information. We use this to understand which pages are useful and where the site is slow.

We do not use Google Analytics, third-party tracking pixels, or behavioural advertising tags.

What we store on your device

We use your browser's localStorage (not cookies) for two small things:

Both stay on your device. We never read or transmit them. You can clear them from your browser settings at any time.

When you contact us

Our contact form is hosted by Tally. When you submit it, Tally stores your name, email, and message so we can read it and reply. Tally's own privacy practices are described on their site. We use your message only to respond — we don't add you to any mailing list or share your details with providers.

Advertising

We plan to display ads via Google AdSense to keep the site free. Google may use cookies to serve relevant ads based on your prior visits to other websites. You can opt out of personalised advertising at google.com/settings/ads. We never share your personal information with Google or any advertiser.

Facility data

The information shown about each facility comes from public sources: Google Maps, the Aged Care Quality and Safety Commission (ACQSC) public register, and providers' own public websites. We don't access logins, paywalled portals, or any non-public data. Sources for each field are described on our About page.

Your rights under Australian privacy law

Because we don't collect personally identifying information from visitors, there's typically nothing for us to delete or correct on request. If you've contacted us via the form and would like your message and contact details removed, ask us via the same form and we'll do so.

Changes to this page

If we change how we handle data, we'll update the date at the top of this page and explain the change in plain language. We won't quietly expand what we collect.
