Diversicare is a division of the Ethnic Communities Council of Queensland (ECCQ), founded in 1989 by Nick Xynias, providing culturally appropriate home care and community support to Queenslanders from over 65 different ethnic backgrounds. The service specialises in matching care participants with workers who speak their preferred language, with staff covering Vietnamese, Hindi, Spanish, Mandarin, Croatian, Japanese, German, Polish, Serbian, Samoan, Lao, Macedonian, and many other languages. Services are delivered through the Australian Government's Support at Home program using a Consumer Directed Care (CDC) model, giving participants choice and flexibility in how their care is arranged. Diversicare is a home care and community support provider, not a residential aged care facility.
