Open Arms Care Incorporated is a not-for-profit community services organisation based in Urunga on the Mid North Coast of New South Wales, founded in 2008 from the amalgamation of three smaller local entities. They provide in-home support services to people aged 65 and over, and to Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander people aged 50 and over, helping clients remain living independently at home. Services include meal delivery (via the Commonwealth Home Support Programme, Support at Home, and retail options), general house cleaning assistance, accompanied activities such as shopping and appointments, and flexible in-home respite for carers. The organisation delivers over 130,000 meals annually across the Mid North Coast region and charges modest client contributions ($15–$20 per hour depending on service type). Open Arms Care follows a wellness and reablement approach, providing assistance rather than doing tasks for clients, with a strong emphasis on independence, dignity, and confidentiality.
