Carinya (Miles) is a small residential aged care home operated by Southern Cross Care Queensland, offering accommodation for up to 17 residents in the rural town of Miles in Queensland's Western Downs, around four hours west of Brisbane and half an hour west of Chinchilla. The home provides personalised, person-centred care under its 'Every person matters' ethos, with professionally trained nurses and carers, access to visiting doctors, allied health professionals and pastoral care services. Specialised care is available for chronic disease management, dementia, and palliative and end-of-life care, alongside respite accommodation. Meals are cooked fresh on site daily and residents enjoy landscaped gardens and a regular programme of activities and social events. Southern Cross Care is a Catholic, not-for-profit organisation founded in 1979 by the Knights of the Southern Cross, today operating 17 residential aged care homes across Queensland and regional NSW and Victoria.
