Burringilly Community Care

Burringilly Community Care is an Aboriginal Corporation based at Woodridge, Queensland, providing culturally appropriate community care services for Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander elders, people with disabilities, and their carers in the Brisbane South Region. Established in 1990, it is Logan City's peak body representing the interests of Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander Elders and their families, with approximately 230 people relying on its services. The organisation offers support at home, Commonwealth Home Support Program, Queensland Community Support Scheme, respite services, and maintenance services, all tailored to individual needs. Its primary focus is enabling people to remain in their own homes, with the explicit goal of preventing premature or inappropriate placement into a nursing home or hostel. Burringilly operates under a 'walking together' ethos that values diversity, inclusion, and cultural identity, and accepts donations to extend its reach to more community members.
